MONSOON  WEAR

‘tip tip barasa panni, panni mai aag laggi’, ‘dekko barrish ho rhi hai . its raining its raining’ are some of the bullshit our beloved Bollywood feeds us. Pouring rain, love songs, a cup of coffee accompanied by the world famous ‘pakoraas’ brings ‘chaand chaand’  to the rainy season. Though my mom prefer popcorn over pakoras. Anyways, no matter what you decide to wear it’s all going to get spoiled once you step out of your house.

Monsoon is a quite a relief after a much detested summer. Monsoon can be fun with bright and vibrant colors seen all around. With clear sky and rainbow come a dirty pants and ruined muddy shoes. With the entrance of rain, it’s time to revamp the essentials during summer to essentials during monsoon.

1)  Comfortable jeans/pants-

As I always say ‘comfort is the key’, it really do come handy during rain. The fit is very important         component during monsoon. Skinny jeans or tights sticks to the skin because of the high                   humidity and sweaty atmosphere. Avoidance of light colors is better as it might get dirty and             may be difficult to remove the latter stains. Dark should be preferred over light color. White,             yellow are strongly not advisable.

Many advice wearing short skirts during rainy season but I strongly advice not to because                   humidity may provide stickiness and it might be uneasy for most of us. Also the wind might add         to the flavor

2)  TANK-TOPS/T-SHIRTS/SHIRTS

loose t-shirts are one of the best choices during rains. They are easy to dry and wash. Vibrant             hues, flowery prints, crop tops can be worn. Avoid wearing high necks, tight shirts, see through         material as likewise the jeans it might stick to your skin.

Cotton should be preferred over linen, silk etc. You can always mix match with colorful scarfs,           neckpieces, funky hair pins and of course the aviators (only after it stops raining).

3)  FOOTWEAR

afraid that your shoes might get dirty? Sneakers, chappals, flip flops are my best friends during         monsoons. They are easy to wash and non-slippery. They are available in abundance during the           season. Washable fabrics should be worn as it prevents further staining. Tight shoes might                 irritate to some extent.

Footwear should be of right size and note should be kept in mind that it don’t collect water               inside your shoe. Also waterproof shoes can be worn.

(Opening of long boots:  If it has a wide opening then water might collect inside.)

Stilettos, high heels are total no for the roads. For parties, dates or work always carry an extra           pair of chappal. Who knows it starts raining and obviously you don’t want to ruin your favorite           pair, right?

4)  HAIRDO

Avoid straightening, curling or making high puff during monsoon. Unexpected rain will result             into dampening your hair and deflating your puff. Ponytails, braids can be the option. Open hair         should be avoided as they tend to stick around the neck region.

5)  UMBRELLA/RAINCOAT

Colorful umbrellas and raincoat are very good idea during monsoon. Always keep an umbrella/           raincoat in your bag for rain safety. They are available in huge variety with vibrant colors. Bigger         the umbrella, better it is.

6)   WATCH/HANDBAGS

Use waterproof watches during monsoon and be cautious about the post monsoon leather stink.       Carry polythene in your bag. If by chance rains start pouring then you will be able to save your           bag from being wet.

7)   MAKEUP

Wash your face if the climate is humid. It may cause acne or irritation. Avoid using greasy                   creams (it might melt). Avoid overdo of makeup. Use waterproof foundation. Liner, kajal. Avoid         using that kind of makeup which might flow with a drop of water. Easy you go with the makeup,       better it is.

Whichever the session it might be, always prefer mix –matching your current wardrobe. Fashion comes and goes but It’s up to you how you make your first impression. So stop looking outside and it’s time to open your own dressing doors.
